A Woodpecker across the way in an old apple tree doing his thing. I'd been hearing him all week but only tracked him down this morning. Just after this shot he swooped off into the wood behind with a big cry.

An amazing amount of bird activity here all day but especially in the evening approaching eight o'clock at the end of the Canfield lot along the stream. Last night we heard but did not see a beaver slapping the water with his tail and swimming back under the old bridge up to his dam.

Last of the daffadils for this year. Always later in Norfolk but still very welcome.

Day Lilies in the old chicken coop foundation, my gardening project for this May visit. Gone are the blackberries (Ralph wondered in his English Muffin loving way if we might not want the blackberries to make jam.) Soon go some opportunistic shrubs and locust trees.

Budding blossoms on an old fallen down apple tree we now call the apple hedge.
