Another effort at some frequency with this again.
On the Howard Junker front, it seems he is stepping down from Zyzzyva after twenty five years. An amazing achievement, Zyzzyva and one that I hope will persist albeit differently under yet to be determined new leadership. I guess I better get my check and matching contribution in soon. The new leadership may not be so personable.
On other literary fronts, I am digging back into Charles Olson having written a bit too obscurely, according to Kevin, Dodie and the workshop at least, into a recent bit of writing I am excavating him with the help of MAPS NO. 4 and the MAXIMUS POEMS.
On the the past job front a marvelous manic Sharper Image reunion coming up that promises to provide material for many a story to be told.
On the curious connections from that world a prep school connection discovered through Linked In (a generation off) but enough detail (during the war and on to Amherst) to spark a few recollections. The 1940's school paper from my Aunt borrowed and never returned by that fat algebra teacher. And the whole John Knowles concept and the prep school novel as genre. Of course my writing of the Loomis Chaffee school is still too kinky for most audiences.
On the customer service front, drugstore.com is writing a comic monologue for me that I will soon edit. Stay tuned.
Upcoming, Blowdryer event at Modern Times Thursday. Trannyshack retirement party on Saturday. And I'm sure much more, I am missing by omission or intent.
